All electronic articles published in MECS Press journals are freely accessible for reading and downloading. No electronic subscription is required.
Article Processing Charges (APCs)
Effective 1 April 2026, an Article Processing Charge applies exclusively to manuscripts that have received official acceptance for publication. APCs are not levied at the time of submission or during peer review, and no fee is incurred for manuscripts that are ultimately rejected.
APC amounts vary across MECS Press journals. The applicable fee and corresponding policy details—including eligibility criteria, waivers, and payment procedures—are transparently published on each journal’s official website, enabling authors to consult them prior to submission. Authors receive an official invoice only after official acceptance of their manuscript.
Editorial independence is strictly upheld: publication decisions are made solely on scholarly merit and are entirely independent of APC considerations. APC policies exert no influence on reviewer selection, peer-review outcomes, editorial assessment, or final acceptance/rejection determinations.
MECS Press is committed to maintaining APCs at a reasonable and sustainable level. Scholarly journal publishing entails ongoing investment in: manuscript and editorial management systems; editorial administration; peer-review coordination; plagiarism and similarity detection; research integrity verification; language and technical editing; typesetting; PDF and HTML production; DOI registration; metadata creation and dissemination; website hosting and maintenance; synchronized server infrastructure; data backup and digital preservation; cybersecurity protocols; software updates and maintenance; technical support services; and general publishing operations.
Optional Print Subscriptions
Printed editions of MECS Press journals are available via voluntary subscription to authors, readers, academic libraries, universities, research institutions, and other eligible organizations.
Revenue from print subscriptions contributes toward covering a portion of the journals’ sustained operational and publishing expenses, thereby supporting their long-term stability and scholarly continuity. Print subscriptions are strictly optional and impose no requirements or conditions on manuscript submission, peer review, editorial evaluation, acceptance, publication, or access to electronic content. Subscription status has no bearing whatsoever on editorial decisions or publication timelines.
