Article Processing Charge

IJEM has maintained an open-access publishing model without charging authors submission, peer-review or publication fees for many years. As the journal continues to grow, the costs of editorial management, peer-review administration, manuscript production, DOI registration, digital preservation, platform maintenance and research integrity services have increased substantially.

To support the long-term sustainability and continued development of the journal, an Article Processing Charge of USD 200 applies to manuscripts originally submitted on or after 1 April 2026 and subsequently accepted for publication.

IJEM does not charge submission or peer-review fees. No payment is required before a manuscript has successfully completed peer review and received formal acceptance.

The charge is intended to support the actual costs of high-quality, permanent and openly accessible scholarly publishing. IJEM is committed to maintaining an affordable charge that minimizes financial barriers for authors.

Full or partial waivers are available to eligible authors who lack sufficient institutional or research funding. Waiver requests are handled separately from the editorial process and have no influence on peer review, editorial decisions or publication priority.

Manuscripts originally submitted before 1 April 2026 remain subject to the previous no-fee policy, regardless of their acceptance or publication date. The applicable charge is determined by the policy in effect on the original submission date.

Journal subscriptions are voluntary and are not a condition of manuscript acceptance or publication.
