The human capital hypothesis and the screening hypothesis were commonly used to explain the positive effect of education level on individual incomes in the field of education economics. Using graduates of the newly-upgraded universities of China as the sample, this paper tested the two contending hypothesis. The results were in favor of the human capital hypothesis, which indicated higher education was rather a production means than merely a signal of productivity for graduates of these universities.[...] Read more.
Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system is a kind of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), which combines wireless communications, computational technologies, floating car data/floating cellular data technologies, inductive loop detection and so on. The GPS (Global Position System) data and the loop detection data are arriving at the BRT dispatch center massively at the same time so the dispatcher can know the real-time status of buses. The passenger flow data are also captured by devices deployed in the stations and then be passed to center too. How to handle those data at low latency and get some events to be used in bus dispatching is really a problem. In this paper, we propose a framework using ESP (event stream processing) technologies that solves the problem more effectively. At last we demonstrate a prototype system implementation that applies in BRT Line 1 project in Beijing.[...] Read more.
With the rapid development of economy, information Security is becoming more and more important for any modern organization in recent years. Therefore, How to teach information security is a challenge to universities. This paper aims to apply schema theory to information security curriculum. The teaching result shows that there is a significant difference in final exam and practice exam between the proposed model and a regular teaching model.[...] Read more.

By studying the simulated process of teacher-to-teacher assessment, the article elaborates on the scientificity and objectiveness of the application of AHP in assessing teachers’ comprehensive working performance. Through computer programming, AHP is put into practice in the field of scientifically assessing teachers’ working performance. Furthermore, it argues for the application of database in managing and assessing data as well as computer software in evaluating and calculating. This software also is applicable to other kinds of multiple-objective decision-making and assessing.[...] Read more.
With the popularization of multimedia technology in the application on teaching, the actual application on teaching software has become a major problem that computer-assisted instruction (CAI) in-depth developed. Constructing a scientific, objective, and fair evaluation system of multimedia teaching software has become imperative. By combining current characteristics of CAI and various evaluating indicator at home and abroad , a more reasonable evaluation system is proposed in this paper. Experimental data show that the evaluation system is feasible and effective, and has a wide range of applications.[...] Read more.
This paper compares the impact of an active teaching approach and a passive teaching style on student cognitive outcomes. Through two sections of an introductory Management course, one part was taught in an active manner, with a variety of active learning exercises. The other was taught in a passive way, emphasizing daily lectures. Across the empirical study, we conclude that active learning can improved cognitive outcomes in class-specific materials.[...] Read more.
In recent years, multimedia and network have been widely applied to the teaching of listening and speaking on non-English-majored college students. In this article, the current situation of the teaching of listening and speaking in Chinese universities was analyzed, then, the advantages of multimedia and network were illustrated.Based on the problems that were found, some strategies were put forward to make the teaching more effective.[...] Read more.
With the rapid development of Internet, network addiction becomes a global problem. In the foreign countries, the government occupies an leading position. People take education as the main method, and pay great attention to precaution. As a result, these measures have achieved marked results. China has probed boldly in recent years and the efforts are coming to fruition. But at the same time, there are still some problems that people think little of precaution and try anything when they are in a desperate situation. Education and society have not played deserved pole. What's more, society has negative influence to a certain extent. The article summes up the current situation and also makes comparisons of network addiction control strategy among China and foreign countries by means of analyzing characteristics of the strategy of foreign countries. Then it makes feasible recommendations of network addiction for Chinese teenagers.[...] Read more.
"Soil Mechanics" is a degree course in Zhejiang University City College of Civil Engineering. The teaching group of this course has thought and practiced the reforms in teacher-student interaction, attendance innovation, materials selection, layout of the homework and the form of practice teaching.Simplifying the derivation of calculation formulas and strengthening the experiment and practice which can develop the students’ manipulative ability and innovative spirit.Interacting with students which can make them learn more about the teacher and this course. At the same time, teachers can understand better about the students’ thinking, then adapt and improve each other. The reform of teaching material selection and arrangement of work which make students have more examples to refer. The free choice in after-school subject which allow students to sum up the knowledge points and that would enable the consolidation of classroom teaching. At the same time, by consulting reference books, students will find the knowledge points which the teacher did not emphasized.[...] Read more.
A forewarning model was set up to evaluate the process of urban sustainable development based on fuzzy matter element theory. Taking status of Nan tong city from 2005 to 2008 as an example, we set up an index system of forewarning in the process of urban sustainable development in Nan tong and established the forewarning standards, limits and degrees.[...] Read more.
Using the computer graphics technology for a classroom demonstration is highly stimulating and encouraging for students in an optical course. In this paper, we present several examples of using computer graphical technology to make teaching and learning optics more effective and efficient, Which include that using pattern displays the results of numerical computation, using the "visualization" shows the process of solving mathematical problems, using color images shows simulation results, and using image processing technology enhances the picture of experimental results.[...] Read more.
